Patrick McNamara is a long time Brunswick resident, graduating from Brunswick High School in 1975. He is the current Chairman of the Economic Development Committee, and also serves on the Planning and Zoning Committee, as well as the Building and Building Code Committee. Elected to Council-at-Large in 2006 and re-elected in 2009, Mr. McNamara is proud and honored to serve our community.

As a public servant, Mr. McNamara has over 27 years experience in the construction industry. He is employed by the Cuyahoga County Engineer as a Bridge Inspector, performing yearly inspections of public structures to ensure the safety of the citizenry. His unique perspective serves him well on City Council to address growing needs relative to our infrastructure.

The Medina County Commissioners appointed Mr. McNamara as the cities’ representative (Brunswick, Medina, and Wadsworth) to the Transportation Improvement District (TID) Board.  His input is critical to find funding solutions, and prioritize the construction improvements to enhance the safety and movement of traffic throughout our growing county.

As a Financial Advisory Committee member for the Brunswick City Schools, and as a former Trustee for the board of the Forest Hills Homeowners Association, he understands the strengths of our neighborhoods as well as our schools.  His commitment to lifelong learning is reflected in his decision to return to Cleveland State University in pursuit of an undergraduate degree in Urban Planning.

Committed to youth, Mr. McNamara has coached baseball, basketball and soccer in the Brunswick Youth Sports programs, and for the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) at St. Ambrose Parish. Mr. McNamara currently resides at 112 Claremont Dr.  He has been married to his wife Patricia for over 23 years. Together, they share four beautiful children: Sean, Katie, Lindsay, and Christopher.
