The Blue Devil Swim Club’s mission is to provide a structured program in a positive environment that will allow each swimmer to reach their maximum athletic potential led by an experienced coaching staff and the use of an excellent training facility.
This fall the Brunswick Rec Center will bring a new USA Swimming-affiliated team to the Brunswick area community. The Blue Devil Swim Club (BDSC) will work in conjunction with the Brunswick High School Swimming & Diving Team as well as the Learn-To-Swim program through the Brunswick Rec Center to build a solid swimming community in Brunswick. BDSC will provide an age-group competitive swimming experience for children age 6 and up from beginning level to the most skilled and experienced swimmer.
Our goals are to:
- strengthen team and individual character;
- create an atmosphere of team spirit, unity and support; and
- develop positive attitudes.
Our focus is on technique and endurance which will lead to success. The Team Director is Erin Crabtree. Erin is also the Head Coach of Brunswick High School’s Varsity Boys & Girls Swimming & Diving Team. The BDSC will also be staffed by Adam Crabtree & Hannah Burandt. Both Adam and Hannah are assistant coaches with the BHS Swimming & Diving Teams. Hannah will be BDSC’s Head Age-Group Coach. All three coaches have extensive swimming and coaching experience as well as being certified teachers.
Practices will be held at Brunswick Rec Center. The fall session will begin in mid-September 2010. Please contact the Rec Center for more information.
