organizes baseball, softball and tee ball for players ages 5 - 18. It is run entirely by volunteers and always looking for those interested in running for board positions. General meetings are held the second Thursday of every month  and are open to the public. Board meetings are held the last Thursday of every month at the same time at City Hall. Fees will be set when the budget is settled in October. Manager applications are in the newsletter registration form.

is made up of children ages 4-18 years old. The goal is to have fun and learn basic soccer skills. The league is made up of all volunteers, and parents are encouraged to get involved in their child's activities. Each session consists of instructions in every aspect of the game. Everyone participates in fun drills that are designed to teach skills. All children participate in non-competitive games on Saturdays.

Qualifying birthdates for the BYSA are after July 31, 2008 and before August 1, 1994.

Brunswick Soccer Association is a competitive travel soccer organization for both boys and girls, ages U8 through U14.  BSA provides experienced trainers at all age levels.  Our staff trainers also include our local high school coaches who share their knowledge and passion of the game with our players.  In addition to our 2 outdoor seasons, BSA players also receive winter skill development and instruction.  Tryouts for our teams will be held in May.  Check our website for dates and locations.  For further information, please contact either Jeff Petrenko at or Tim Shearer at .

Our recreational division, the Brunswick Soccer Academy, provides an emphasis on fun, development, exercise and a positive environment through creative soccer activities.  We offer two programs: the Junior Kickers, ages 6-8 and the Little Kickers, ages 3-5.  Each program is run by high energy, experienced soccer trainers with expertise in training and developing children in these age groups.  The Junior Kickers offer both a Fall (starts in August) and Spring session (starts in April). The Little Kickers is a Summer program beginning in June. Contact Pam Menick at to register.

is now accepting and mail-registrations. Blue Devils Youth Football is in its 42nd year of teaching the fundamentals of football and cheer to over 600 kids at 4 different levels here in Brunswick. It is a non-profit organization run by volunteers and is a newly designated USA Football, Heads Up Football affiliated league. BDYF feels it gives its players a distinct advantage by teaching them the current terminology and formations taught by the BHS coaching staff to help create an overall football program in Brunswick. Games are played on Saturdays at BHS.

fishingYouth Fishing Derby is scheduled for May 10

One sure sign of spring: Brunswick's annual Youth Fishing Derby, to be held this year on Saturday, May 10th. This event will be at North Park, with a check-in time of 8:00 am. The Derby itself runs from 8:30-10:30 am. The event is free and open to children 16 and under, but is limited to the first 200 registrants.

You can register for this event at the Rec Center. Prizes are awarded to the winners, and there is a door prize raffle at 10:45 am.

The Youth Fishing Derby is put on by the Brunswick Optimists Club and sponsored by the Medina County Park District, with support from the Brunswick Fishing Club and the Rocky River Watershed Council.

New! Drop-in aerobics

Now you can get fit for a fin! Just stop in to any aerobics class whenever the spirit moves you. The Rec Center is offering single drop-in classes, for both members and non-members, at a rate of $5 each.

BYS logoBYS offering T-ball for 3 and 4 year olds

Brunswick Youth Sports is expanding to add 3 and 4 year old T-ball this summer. Games are short and schedules are limited to make this an easy introduction to the sport for smaller children.
