Senior events calendar

Senior programs and events are open to the 50+ group at the Rec Center. You do not need to be a Rec Center member to participate.

A senior calendar is published once a month and may be picked up in the senior room, our front counter, City Hall, Brunswick Library or the lobby of United Labor Towers.  To have a copy mailed to you free of charge, leave your name and address at the Rec Center front desk, or via voicemail at 330-558-6836.

On the first Thursday of each month the local newspaper, Medina County Gazette, carries a magazine supplement called “Senior Living.”  All information pertaining to Senior Citizens in Brunswick and throughout Medina County is detailed in it.

REGISTRATION SCHEDULE

Trip Registration begins on Tuesday, February 22nd. To sign up after February 22nd, please call Sally at 440-628-3024 ext. 120. MORE INFORMATION ABOUT
THE 2011 BUS TRIPS

Reservations are only taken with full payment. On trips more than $200, a $100 deposit reserves your seat. Full payment is due 45 days before the start of the trip. Travel insurance for long trips is optional and purchased through a private company. A pamphlet that explains the program is available.

All buses leave from the Brunswick Rec Center. Be at the center at least 30 minutes before departure time to check-in with the Travel Coordinator. Buses are loaded in the order in which you signed up for the trip. Park your car in the back parking lot, not the library lot or front handicapped spaces.

Seniors on overnight trips will receive luggage tags and information prior to departure. Itineraries will be available to leave with family members or friends. Car color, make and license plate number are needed to leave with the Police Dept.

A new 2011 Medical Form is required. We need a name & phone number for an emergency contact even if that person lives out of town. By filling in all the blanks concerning medications and/or medical conditions, you assure swift & accurate medical attention in case of an emergency. All information is kept confidential & used only in an emergency.

Travelers must be able to climb the stairs of the bus without assistance and walk independently for a distance. If you need special assistance/accommodations or a handicap bus, you must make these requests at the time of booking. Handicapped
travelers must have a companion to assist them.

Refunds are issued for trips only if your seat can be filled from a waiting list or if KHM Travel Group cancels the trip. In case of a last minute emergency, you can find your own replacement. Notify the coordinator of the replacement. Call the center as soon as possible on the day of a trip if you are not able to travel to avoid inconveniencing other travelers. As of June 2009, a valid passport is necessary to travel to Canada.

Payments can be made by check, credit card or cash. Make checks payable to KHM Travel Group. To sign up after February 22nd, please call Sally at 440-628-3024 ext. 120, or visit KHM Travel's office at 50 Pearl Rd. Suite 110, which is in the Highland Square Building at the corner of Boston and Pearl Road in Brunswick.

A casino's bonus is determined by the casino and is not guaranteed by KHM Travel Group or the bus company. The bonus may change without notice. Casinos require a valid photo ID to receive the bonus package.
