The Division has been involved with senior citizen issues for a number of years. The Division has expanded the program through regular meetings with senior citizens at the United Labor Tower on Laurel Rd. in Brunswick. The program also includes School Liaison Police Officers (because of geographical assignments) periodically checking on the well-being of senior citizens.
The Division of Police also works closely with the Medina County Office for Older Adults. Two employees of that agency are contract workers for the Medina County Job and Family Services working on Adult Protective Service issues.
The "Finding Families" and Project Lifesaver programs have been established where residents who
are caring for an older adult with dementia, or other related issue, can
register with the Division of Police.
Members of the Division of Police belong to Senior Focus and Senior Service
Networks organizations that assist seniors.
