Part time Fire Inspector
The City of Brunswick is accepting resumes and applications for the position of Part-time Fire Inspector for the Division of Fire. Desired minimum qualifications include High School diploma or GED equivalent; State of Ohio Firefighter II Certificate, minimum 5 years of experience in Fire Safety Inspections. Must be 21 years of age or older; valid State of Ohio driver’s license without record of suspension or revocation in any State. Training in plan review preferred.
Responsibilities include inspections and evaluations of public, commercial and residential structures to ensure compliance. Identify corrective actions that must be made to bring properties into compliance with applicable fire codes, laws regulations and standards. Issue citations for fire code violations and provide court testimony regarding fire code violations. Communicate with businesses regarding pending fire safety inspections as well as follow up to verify corrections to fire code have been accomplished.

Part time Building Zoning and Property Maintenance Inspector (non-certified)
The City of Brunswick is accepting resumes and applications for the position of Part-time Zoning and Property Maintenance Inspector (Non-Certified). Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent, three (3) years of experience in residential or general construction and related fields, or any equivalent combination of continuing education and experience. Candidates must have thorough knowledge of the current Ohio Building Code, Residential Code of Ohio, Zoning and Property Maintenance Code, and general construction codes. The candidate must also have good public relation skills and the ability to prepare written reports and respond to citizen complaints and investigations. Position has been budgeted for approximately twenty hours per week. The pay for this position is commensurate upon experience and qualifications
