Fire Chief, Division of Fire

The City of Brunswick is accepting resumes for Fire Chief. Responsibilities include planning, directing and coordinating activities of the Division of Fire, including fire prevention and suppression, emergency medical services, disaster planning, hazardous material mitigation duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Develops, plans and implements division goals, objectives, rules, regulations and work methods in response to assessment of community needs.  Coordinates, administers and monitors fire and emergency response activities, personnel and programs.  Reports to City Manager/Safety Director. Provides consultation and staff assistance to City Council and other governmental officials.

Minimum qualifications include: An Associate’s Degree or equivalent is required, a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred; eight (8) years’ experience in firefighting and emergency medical service; five (5) of which experience was Lieutenant or above in a supervisory or management position. NIMS 300, 400.

Secretary for Board of Zoning Appeals and Board of Building Appeals

The City of Brunswick is accepting resumes for the position of Secretary for the Board of Zoning Appeals and the Board of Building Appeals. Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent. Additional post-High School education in secretarial/administrative and computer software courses preferred. Work experience in municipal government desirable.  Superior oral and written communication skills, computer skills required and transcription skills preferred. Candidate must be willing to become familiar with procedures for the Boards. Hours will vary, as needed, but should average 4 to 8 hours per week. Must be available to attend evening meetings, as required. Salary range is $9.50 to $17.66 per hour.

Part time Administrative Assistant, Division of Fire

The City of Brunswick is accepting resumes for the position of Part-time Administrative Assistant for the Division of Fire. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and two years administrative experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills; Microsoft Suite computer skills; and organizational skills required. Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast paced environment is essential. Position budgeted for 16 hours per week; afternoons preferred; pay range $9.50-$31.03 based on experience.
