Position openings and exams

The City of Brunswick is accepting resumes for the position of part-time Assistant Clerk of Council for the City Council Office.  The Assistant Clerk of Council will work under the supervision of the Clerk of Council.  Responsibilities include a wide variety of administrative and clerical functions for the operation of the City Council Office. These responsibilities include preparing minutes, Council packets, proclamations, and serving as a backup to the Clerk at Council Meetings.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent; experience in municipal government or general office practices; or any equivalent combination of related education and experience that would provide the required abilities.  Superior oral and written communication skills, computer skills and organizational skills required.  The ability to understand and efficiently summarize the main points from public meeting discussions. Ability to establish effective working relations with council, members of the public, supervisors and other employees; Ability to work a flexible schedule in order to provide back-up for the Clerk of Council when absent; Ability to attend meetings in the evening when required; Ability to work independently with discretion; Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver’s license.

Certified Group Exercise instructors are needed for Cardio Toning, Cardio Sculpt or Cardio Mix classes. Preferred candidate will have certifications to teach group classes, have instructors insurance and be certified in CPR/AED. Looking for instructors to teach classes weekday mornings and/or Sunday morning/afternoons.
