The Laurel Maxwell Intersection Improvement Project is about 90% complete, with the following work remaining:
- Final asphalt wear course
- Minor landscaping
- Striping
- Installation of new signs
We expect the project to be completed by September 14, 2026. The Brunswick Service Department will provide updates if the completion date changes.

Laurel Road will be closed in the eastbound direction between Pinewood Drive and Coventry Drive starting on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, for the contractors to complete the Laurel Maxwell Intersection Improvements Project. The project duration is approximately 180 days. During the project, Laurel Road Eastbound will be CLOSED between Coventry Drive and Pinewood Drive. Westbound traffic will be maintained. Maxwell Boulevard southbound will be CLOSED at Chelsea Drive and will be detoured locally. Similarly, Rocklyn Road northbound will be CLOSED at Applewood Drive and will be detoured locally. Please use caution when traveling through the work zone, and if possible, find alternative routes to avoid the area during this major improvement project.
